The Implant Dentistry Process

In general, you need a sufficient amount of healthy bone to support the implant. He will take digital x-rays and digital impressions of your mouth using the CADENT iTero™ unit and create a template which will be used as a guide for the precise placement of the implant. During the next appointment, the implant will be placed in the jaw bone during a simple surgical procedure.

Once the implant is placed, it will take three to six months for the bone to heal and fuse to the titanium post, forming a strong foundation for the replacement tooth. Dr. Bosher will ensure that your jaw has healed sufficiently, and then attach the replacement crown, bridge, or denture to the implant. With proper care, your implant can last a lifetime; however, the crown, bridge, or denture may wear and need to be replaced over time.
